1947 South Africa - [Item Number 2055]
A very difficult item to source, this plate commemorates the visit to South Africa at a time of unrest in the area. It was thought a Royal visit would do much to improve relations between the governments of the two countries. The King and Queen were accompanied on the tour by Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. It was during the visit that the King opened the parliament, the first time he had done so overseas.

A very desirable item.
