ROYAL WEDDING 1858 - [Item Number 0042]
Victoria, The Princess Royal, was the eldest child of Queen Victoria, born in 1840. 20 years after the Queens marriage to Prince Albert, at 18 the Princess was married to Prince Frederick of Prussia (later Frederick III) in St. James Palace. The Princess wore a white dress trimmed with Honiton lace. The Prince was dressed in the uniform of a Prussian General.

Both are depicted on the front of this jug. On the reverse is a print of the Prussian Royal Palace, the picture of which was taken from an illustration in "The Illustrated London News".
