 | One handled bone china mug produced for J & J May of London 90mm/3 ½”.
The rim is in black as opposed to gold as is the handle. Opposite the handle is a large ornate frame in purple. Within the frame is an inscription. Around the foot of the mug is the inscription “HRH Princess Alice – Last surviving grandchild of Her Majesty Queen Victoria” Her death really was the end of an era. Apart from a mug and plate from Caverswall very little marks this momentous event in what was a little of Victorian history in the 20th century.
