 | This 10 ½ " (260mm) in diameter plate was produced by the Rye pottery in Sussex in 1969 to commemorate the investiture of Prince Charles as Charles the Prince of Wales. The centre design has the hand painted plume, below which is the motto "Ich Dien" or translated "I serve". This exceptional studio piece, made to the highest standards of the Rye pottery. In recent years the Rye Pottery has become very collected in its own right, and a collection of Rye commemoratives can be very impressive. |
