ACCESSION 1837 - [Item Number 0041]
Princess Victoria was born on the 24th of May 1819 at Kensington Palace, London. Daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Kent. She succeeded her Uncle, King William IV to the throne 27 days after her 18th birthday, on June 20th 1837.

Victorias popularity was evident by the amount of items produced both for the accession and coronation. However 162 years have taken their toll and consequently pieces for these two events are now very difficult to obtain and are very sought after.

This jug is a particularly fine piece, and very evocative of the era. Made of pottery. Pale blue, possibly by Minton.
